Vera, the Slightly Mad Penguin, Traveling Uncomfortably, As Always

Vera had never been to Antarctica.

In fact, she had never really wanted to go.
Traveling was uncomfortable, cold and confusing.
There was no coffee. No Wi-Fi.
The food was… repetitive.
The fish tasted suspiciously like... yesterday.

And she had forgotten her favourite pillow.
She’d packed her floral suitcase.
But not her sense of direction.

But she brought her lipstick.
Because if one must be cold and confused—
one might as well look fabulous.

She was starting to think she should have gone to Ibiza, it would’ve been warmer. Or Iceland. Or Denmark, friendlier.
Florida, tackier – but at least there’s sun.
Or maybe she just should have stayed home.

But here she was.
On a floating piece of ice,
with a floral suitcase
and a head full of second thoughts.

She was starting to regret everything.

Which meant...
It was officially a vacation.

Vera quote:

"It’s not that I don’t like traveling. I just don’t like doing it."
